Welcome to our Blog!

On this site we want to open a discussion about advertising in political campaigns. Therefore we should take a look at Obama’s election campaign and contrast it to Merkel’s election campaign. What headings and slogans did they use and what effect did those have on the voters?

Apart from that we want to focus on advertising, special "Obama products" and check if Merkel had ads like that, too.

Please feel welcome to give us your thoughts.

Addicted to Gambling with our Heads?

While surfing through the internet, looking for some serious aspect to blog about I then rejected this thought. The reason for that is this:

Not only can you make our chancellor lay a whole lot of effort in hip hop moves and "ballet" dance, she even takes on the greatest smile of the world in her black business suit. In the background you can discover some graffiti spray containers which obviously have been used by Merkel herself to paint the providing site's name on a public bench as well as "CDU" on a red cloth or carpet on the ground. The very floor where she makes her moves. Plus, Merkel dances to the sounds of a ghetto blaster. Still, you can't quite imagine her there along with some real hip hoppers. I wonder why that is...
And did you see the building in the back?
The fact that she does wear business wardrobe contributes to the ridiculous picture.

There are also some other games provided. For example, you can take on the role of Merkel and box against Steinmeier or the other way round. The same system works with Obama vs. Mc Cain.
Very striking in both of these versions is a half naked Guido Westerwelle or in the American version a Hillary Clinton in the role of a "sexy ring girl"...

But if you do not regard political backgrounds and correctness, this can be a quite entertaining amusement.
Please take a look and comment your opinion on that.

  1. I think your blog is very interesting, you chose a very diverse topic!
The Merkel-dance is of course very funny if you do not regard political correctness ;) Actually, I think she still looks a little bit stiff doing her hiphop-moves ;)
